Why would you pay $49 for a course when you can watch the video for free on YouTube?
It’s the same reason why kids have teachers at school, and coaches for their soccer games. Why you have a trainer for your workouts, or a mentor for your work. Why athletes, at every stage, have coaches on the sidelines – they help walk you through what’s necessary to succeed.
Often, we can’t do it alone. We can’t see ourselves and need another pair of eyes on our process. Like a golf coach. Every top pro on tour still has a swing coach. It’s because when you’re swinging a club, you’re focused on the target, not your swing. They need those pair of eyes.
If you’re just trying to pick up some information, YouTube is great for that. Same for books. For a course, someone has taken the time to break down a skill, a concept, a mastery, an idea, and has created a plan for you to follow, step-by-step so that you can follow and learn the information, interactively, in the best way possible.
YouTube videos are great. Some of the best advice in the world, in some of the best captured talks in the world, are on YouTube. For free. Just tune in and soak it up. Books are also amazing. Just like videos they have the ability to teach you things that you never knew, things that can transform whatever it is you’re working on or passionate about. Books are usually written by experts in the field, people who have mastered something, and want to share it.

Or read books, they’re great, but they’re just random pieces of good advice. Courses are good pieces of advice stitched together, by an expert, that give you an interactive step-by-step plan to focus your attention and never lose it.
Often books or single videos can be all we need. But that’s rare.
Imagine trying to do college alone. Never having the professors, teachers, counselors, peers all working alongside you. Studying alone, assignments alone, turning in papers alone, and all the time, you need to keep learning and growing alone.
That’s what a lot of us do when we’re trying to reach our goals. You can’t do it all from a YouTube video.
We need help. We need experts to help guide us. We need to be connected and energized by sitting next to our peers who have similar goals.
